Graham Lester studied fine art for three
years before branching out into graphic design and spent 25 years running his
own design agency. A few years ago he felt the need to do something more
creative and turned to sculpture, his chosen media being wood and paper.
Paper is an
interesting medium as it forces you to simplify the subject to almost become abstract to
demonstrate the flexibility of paper, normally associated with flat pages. By
creasing, bending and cutting I can achieve an effect that can be exhibited as
both two dimensional and free standing sculptures.
