The painter, Paul Millichip, has lived and worked in Buckinghamshire for over thirty years. He moved from London to North Bucks. to establish a painting centre in an historic 17th century tithe barn in the market town of Winslow. The painting centre was a success and attracted clientele from all over the world. Meanwhile Paul Millichip continued to paint and exhibit his work in London and the regions. His work has been bought for many Public collections including The Arts Council of Great Britain, Liverpool University, Leicester Museum and Buckinghamshire County Art Gallery, together with many private collections.
Two books by Paul Millichip have been published by B T Batsford, ‘The Travelling Painter’, and ‘Painting Light and Shade’. Both deal with aspects of painting in different countries under different qualities of light.
Paul Millichip has been concerned for many years with the development of art and art education in Buckinghamshire, and as an art adviser, helped towards the affiliation of the county to a regional arts association. He is a member of the Silbury Group, a group of forward-looking professional artists in Milton Keynes, and also exhibits, as an honorary member, with the Buckinghamshire Arts Society.

My work as a painter has been concerned for some fifty years with expressing the dynamics of pictorial space. I see the space surrounding the figures and objects in my work as being in perpetual motion, exerting pressure and creating tension across and within the entire picture plane.
