Ian has a long-standing interest in the photographic medium and is primarily self-taught. Based, for over 20 years, in East London and Suffolk he juggles his work as a technical expert in the media sector with his passion for photography.
Ian’s favourite genre is landscapes. He works using digital and film cameras, across 35mm and medium formats, in both colour and black-and-white to generate a wide collection of images. He looks for the unusual in the landscape around us and enjoys creating works that counterpoint the beauty of a view with quirky everyday details. There is often a wry sense of humour behind his best photographs.
Ian is currently printing his images using digital inkjet technology on Epson Archival Matte paper. This allows him to print in small runs and on demand. He is exploring printing on other media such as canvas and aluminium.
